Privacy policy

Antigenics is committed to protecting your privacy and to preserving your trust in our handling of your personal information. This is very important to us. Antigenics goes to great lengths to protect the privacy and security of your personal information. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the appropriate use of the information you provide to us, Antigenics has put in place physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard all of the information we collect from you on our website.

Antigenics does not collect personally identifiable information through its website except for information that you voluntarily decide to provide. Such information will be used only for its intended purpose, which will be clearly disclosed at the time of submission.

You may link directly to specific sections of our privacy policy by clicking on the headings below:

What type of information does Antigenics collect?

Antigenics collects anonymous or non-personally identifiable information, such as data-tracking the use of our website and user demographic information, and may collect personally identifiable information, such as your name and address. Antigenics only collects personally identifiable information on its website from persons who choose voluntarily to give us this information.

For instance, if you believe that you are eligible to enroll in an Antigenics clinical trial, you can either consult your physician or complete and submit an information request form on our website. Our form requires personally identifiable information such as: first and last name, telephone number, city, state, zip code and e-mail address. We may also request some specific information about your condition that may help us determine if you an appropriate candidate for a clinical trial. This type of information concerns the disease that you have and some of the treatments that you may have received. We will, however, need additional personally identifiable information if you become an actual participant in a clinical trial. This additional information, however, is not collected through our website.

How does Antigenics collect information?

Antigenics collects information on its website in two ways: through direct user input, when the user voluntarily provides us with information through web forms, or through web server logs.

What does Antigenics do with the information it collects?

Antigenics only uses the information it collects for the specific purpose for which it was gathered. For example, we only use the information you provide us on the clinical trials information request form to determine whether you might be a possible candidate for enrollment in one of our clinical trials. We only use anonymous or demographic information to track the use of our website and to improve our website’s function and content. Antigenics does not collect personally identifiable information through its website except for information that you voluntarily decide to provide. Such information will be used only for its intended purpose, which will be clearly disclosed at the time of submission.

Antigenics stores all personally identifiable information in a secure fashion. Only a limited number of employees within Antigenics have access to personally identifiable information on our web server or in our databases. These employees access and use personally identifiable information for the sole purpose of performing their job responsibilities.

Antigenics regularly advises its employees of the importance of safeguarding personally identifiable information. It is our policy not to disclose any personally identifiable information to any third party, except as explained above. A violation of Antigenics’ privacy policy is grounds for termination of employment.

Anonymous or non-personally identifiable information is kept in a separate database on our web server. This type of information is collected from our web server logs and is stored and maintained in a secure location on our web server. Aggregate information derived from the server logs is made available only to personnel inside the company, and to federal government agencies or third parties only as required by law.

Further, we may occasionally use cookies to track a user’s visit on our website, but we do not engage in any online web site advertising such as banner advertising from various advertisement placement companies. In the event we do use cookies, they are used solely to enhance the user experience of our website—not to save or access personal information. If we need to use cookies for other purposes, it will be plainly stated before the cookie is initiated. If you would like more information about cookies, please consult your browser’s help function.

What is a web server log?

Antigenics maintains web server logs that record data about visitors to our website. No personally identifiable information is recorded in our logs. Web server logs contain the following information:

We do not use web server logs to discern or identify individuals, except if required by law. Instead, we use web server logs to analyze traffic, to help improve our website, and to reach new and potential applicants for our clinical trials.

How will I know if Antigenics changes its privacy policy?

If it becomes necessary through a change in our policies, business practices or through legislative or other legal requirements to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes here on our website.

How can I correct or withdraw information from Antigenics’ databases?

At any time you can delete, change or update any or all personally identifiable information that you have submitted through the Antigenics website. If the information was provided in connection with a clinical trial, this can be done by sending an e-mail to us at clinicalaffairs@antigenics.com. Otherwise, please contact webmaster@antigenics.com.

Anonymous information, however, cannot be deleted from our database because it is collected and stored in an aggregate form that contains no personally identifiable information.

What about links from the Antigenics site to other websites?

The Antigenics website contains links to several other websites. Please be aware that Antigenics is not responsible for the privacy practices of sites other than its own. The privacy policy listed above applies only to the Antigenics website.
